two bottles Rioja reserva at the new Queens (Enrique Tomas) before game, selection of meat, olives (green and black). Discussion concerning domestic help was a little raucous but otherwise its all good.

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
The atmosphere is dependant on what is going on on the pitch. When we fucked up tottenham (with the Lanzini goal) a couple of seasons back the atmosphere from start to finish was as good as anything I have heard anywhere. if we are being beaten by the likes of Bournemouth it is not so good.

They sing it at us like 'we were the bollocks, but not now' when quite clearly, even with any watering down of day trippers etc, we are TWICE the fucking support they'll ever be.

I mean FULHAM on a FRIDAY night had one of the lowest attendances for a LONDON club the white wine sipping cunts.

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
We're not short of songs at all we have a song for almost every player plus the usuals that get trotted out at most away games, problem is that those that go away are dispersed throughout the stadium and those that don't have he chance to go away wouldn't know them

So we're stuck with Bubbles for the moment

‘You’re not West Ham anymore ,’ the only way to counter this is sing ,’ we’re not West Ham anymore ‘ eg arsenal were singing this at us before we went one -nil up ,why don’t we sing it back ie you’re right mate we’re not the old West Ham (getting smashed by cunts like you we now smash cunts like you)!

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
I'm still not won over by the place so have not been going too often. Saying that, I do think people are adjusting. The minor improvements should continue to help it all go in the right direction.

Still think that eventually we will end up owning the OS and only then will we really make the much needed changes in order to turn it into a world class stadium.

Currently our rent is not even covering match day operational costs! A great deal for us but will the government really be happy with the ground being run like this for the next 97 years? Let's hope not. I can see them getting more desperate as time goes and may cut their losses and sell on the cheap.

Bringing the lower and upper tiers closer together and closer to the pitch will then hopefully turn it into the footballing venue it could potentially be.

Ham ,a rather loud rendition of WHO THE FUCKING HELL ARE YOU from all sides would do the trick

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
Until we start properly having a go back at away fans singing things like "You're not West Ham anymore" with no response I think the atmos outside or inside is pointless to warrant gaging how good it is.

Don't you's?

And how does anyone get a signal to grass up fans? I can never get a sniff of a signal in there.

Half time outside

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
I have no doubt things outside the ground will improve in time. It will take years, but it will come.

It can be OK inside, and better than OK, sometimes. Credit the club if they manage to move the fans closer, because that is still the biggest problem for me and most, the distance of the front rows from the pitch. This still needs addressing properly one day, one way or another, the club will benefit hugely by getting a better configuration sorted.

Better manager, improving football etc, all reasons to be cheerful.

HOWEVER, any goodwill for little improvements is undone when you here how innocent fans are being removed because of the “Grassline” receiving trumped up charges. What the fuck is going on with this? And how does anyone get a signal to grass up fans? I can never get a sniff of a signal in there.

+3,000 away punters = 60,000 divs

isn't it 60k divs now??

arsene york-hunt 1:40 Mon Feb 25
Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
For all the whingeing, moaning and griping, which appears to be the party line on here, there are still about 57,000 supporters who go to the games.

These 57,000 are all pop corn eating divs according to some.

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
Wouldnt say i love it at the OS, but is it getting better and starting to feel more like 'home'? yes, i think so...slowly but surely......the main gripe for me is the distance from the pitch but that will just have to come in time i think.

And as for atmosphere there has been some great games over there, is it any quieter than the last 5-10 years at UP....im not so sure.

Re: The atmosphere before the game around the ground.
it's been only 2.5 years since moving in and people are still comparing it to upton park

The singing sections are starting to show IMO (blocks 155, 141 and 114 in particular) and you can't deny some games have had good atmospheres because there has been some excellent examples

Changes are being implemented as mentioned fan zones etc just needs time. The new track cover will be in before april pending no more hold ups with stadium operators dragging their feet.

Most important thing to remember, it's down to Daniel Levy and Barry Hearn that we have to go through this stupid drawn out process of requesting ground changes whilst renting the stadium when the club wanted to buy it and make our own changes.
